In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Tobin Fisher of Vantage Robotics, which is manufacturing the Snap quadcopter. The compact, folding camera drone includes a number of unique features, including: the world’s smallest 4K camera gimbal, fully enclosed propellers to fly safely in close proximity to people and interchangeable components to customize it for specific missions. It is compatible with multiple control modes, including an Android or iOS smart device, a Bluetooth gaming controller, or a conventional DSM hobby radio – or entirely autonomous flight using pre-programmed maneuvers. Alternative rotor sets set for release by the end of the year will allow it to fly silently for an hour or perform better in windy environments, allowing the pilot to customize the aircraft for a particular environment.
